Then, the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure, and the resulting residue was dissolved in 300 ml of ethyl acetate. The solution was washed twice with an aqueous saturated sodium bicarbonate solution and once with a 10% saline solution, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate and then filtered, and the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure. The resulting residue was purified by a silica gel column chromatograph to obtain 4.57 mg of 2-(N-t-butoxycarbonylamino)methyl-5-formylthiazole.
