This protocol enabled efficient oxidative coupling of epoxides and thiols to access structurally valuable β-hydroxylsulfoxides RSO2CH2C(R1R2)OH [R = 4-MeC6H4, 4-ClC6H4, 4-MeOC6H4, etc.; R1 = H, Me; R2 = Me, Et, CO2Et, etc.].
