A group of 26 new 2-halo-6-alkylthio- and 2,6-bis(alkylthio)-4-carbamoyl- and -thiocsrbamoylpyridines was synthesized. Some of the carbamoylpyridines and all thiocarbamoylpyridines were tested for their antimycobacterial activity against atypical mycobacterial strains. Promising photosynthesis-inhibiting activity was also found for some of the amidopyridines.
