General procedure: To a suspension of NaH (344 mg, 60% dispersion in mineral oil) in THF (17 mL) was added allyl alcohol (2) (500 mg, 8.6 mmol) at 0 C. The organic layer was dried over anhydrous MgSO4 and concentrated in vacuo. The residue was purified by flash column chromatography on silica gel (hexanes/EtOAc, 3:1) to give 6a (1.05 g, pale yellow oil) in 85% yield.
