The reaction mixture was allowed to warm to ambient temperature and was stirred overnight. The reaction mixture was poured into water and extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was washed with brine, dried over sodium sulfate, concentrated and crystallized from ether to give compound 53 (3.0 g, 71%).
