To a solution of 1B (4.89 g, 30 mmol) in acetic acid (90 mL) was added dropwise a solution of bromine (9.6 g, 60 mmol) in acetic acid (20 mL) over 15 min. The mixture was stirred at rt for 6 h, and the resulting precipitate was collected and washed with additional HOAc.
