A THF solution (20 ml) of 4- (4-isocyanatobutyl) benzene (1.71 mmol) and 4- (2-aminoethyl) benzenesulfonamide (20 ml) was stirred at 40-45 ¡ã C for 24 hours. The solvent was distilled off and ammonium chloride (100 ml), water (50 ml) and ethyl acetate (100 ml) were added to the remaining residue. The organic layer was treated with brine and dried over sodium sulfate. The solvent was distilled off and the resulting concentrate was adsorbed onto silica gel using methylene chloride. The mixture was purified by column chromatography using ethyl acetate in hexane to give the title compound.
