The organic layer was dried (sodium sulfate) and concentrated to provide 3-oxo-3,4-dihydro-2H-benzo[b][l,4]oxazine-6-sulfonyl chloride in 66% yield as a white solid. Data: 1HNMR (400MHz, CDC13) delta 9.29 (s, IH), 7.71 (d, 2H), 7.52 (s, IH), 7.16 (d, 2H), 4.80 (s, 2H). LC/MS (ES) m/z 317 [M+BnNH-H].
